Plan - No plan other than to train easy stuff whenever I feel like it.  Racing a 5K this weekend to see how much slower I've gotten over the summer.  I've put on about 3 pounds this past month as my training hasn't kept up with my eating.

Thu - Anemic week thus far.  No motivation.  Oct 11th can't come soon enough.

Sun - Season officially ended today!  Time to get fat and watch football like every other red-blooded, middle-aged American male.

Tue - Feeling a bit under the weather.

Sun - Completely worn out for training.  No more motivation or interest, especially for running.  It's over.  I am going to tough it out one more week, then hang up the shoes for a while.

Plan - Survive another week of moderate training. Race 5K on Sat to measure running atrophy, if any.

Tue - Run:  meant to go easy, but at mile 5 a major storm rolled in and scared the bejezus out of me.  Had to kick in race pace.

Sat - Felt sluggish and slow all week in every discipline.  It's like the body is shutting down for the winter and going into rehab.  Could be mental.

Week of Aug 18

Plan - Lots of running.  Lots of swimming.  Moderate cycling.

Tue - Balmy noontime.  Cloudless sky with sun on my back as I swim.  Somehow, a lifeguard at the Y claims lightening and I get kicked out mid-swim.  Intended for 3,500.  

Wed - 1,000 w/u, 5x100 on 1:20 then 60 sec rest, 500 on 6:25, 30 sec rest, 5x100 on 1:30, 30 sec rest, 2x250 on ?, 500 w/d.  ankles and achilles really bothersome today.

Thu - 800 w/u descend, 200 kick, 2x400, 200 kick, 5x200, 200 kick, 300 w/d.  Rainy evening ride.

Sun - Lazed out of two runs this week.  Oh well.

Mon - Took Nicole and Ray to Bronx Zoo all day.  They rode a camel and loved the Mouse House.  The Bronx is a dump.

Tue - Traveled most of day.  Got home and took a hot shower.  It is good to be home.  I need sleep.

Wed - swim:  1,000 w/u, 200 kick, 4x500 at 6:15 on 7:00, 300 kick, 200 at 25 easy-25 hard, 300 pull w/d

Sun - Absolutely, positively did not feel like running today.  So, blew off a scheduled 8 miler.

Fri - Since swim cancelled for NYC Triathlon, I swam moderately hard today.  1,000 build, 200 kick, 2 x 500 (6:13, 6:08) on 7:00, 300 kick, 5 x 100 at 1:10 on 1:30, 200 w/d.  BTW, I've never swam 500's this fast and I wasn't burning it.
