grove fitness (the original one on virginia street)

hugo, the killer whale

hungry sailor (the grove hasn't amounted to much since its closing in 1988)

hurricane parties (we really won't miss these)

keg south (no comment) 

land crabs (where did they all go?)

last carrot (when it was next to the hungry sailor)

lums (on the corner of 79th)

main highway in the grove

miami serpentarium (remember bill haaste?)

old parrot jungle (now the "pinecrest gardens")

old riviera theater in the gables

old wooden bridges to the keys

señor frogs in the grove (doors finally closed january 2009)

the taurus (closed and then returned to its original location in the grove)

tropicaire drive-in theater

miami…see it like a native (remember the bumper stickers?)

tigertail lounge in the grove (corner of tigertail and 27th)

when the coconut grove arts festival was free (admission is now $7)

when you didn't have to pay to launch your boat at matheson hammock 

when oak avenue (donna's old neighborhood) in the grove had "head shops"

when black point had just an old shack store

when the people on south beach were older than the buildings

winn dixie where cocowalk is now
